European Wild boar is commonly used in Atlantic salmon fly patterns. The guard hairs are mostly used to imitate feelers in shrimp patterns. Although still fairly uncommon in steelhead patterns, European Wild Boar opens up a range of possibilities for steelhead flies. It is an excellent material for feelers in shrimp patterns for steelhead and also great for many crustacean imitations for saltwater patterns. In addition to the guard hair, the under-fur is a great substitute for seal. Piece size is roughly 2" x 2"
We source large, white/cream coloured, European Wild Boar for the best quality possible.
